What we offer

coffee beansLa Cosecha Coffee carefully roasts all of our coffee beans in small batches on an 8-pound fluid-bed roaster. All of our offerings have been grown in a sustainable manner and all farmers have been given a fair price for these beans. We are proud to offer the following single origin whole bean coffees.

(New) Brazil Fazenda Certified Organic

Dark roast, medium body, bright aroma.  Well-balanced cup from start to finish.  Perfect for enjoying several cups in a row!  This farm is located in the largest coffee region of Brazil in the town of Fortaleza de Minas at an elevation of 4000 feet.  In 1998, the farmers adopted organic farming methods, something relatively new for Brazilian coffee.

(New) Ethiopian Natural Sidamo, Certified Organic Fair Trade

Medium-dark roast, creamy body, buttery aroma, bold with hints of butterscotch.  This dry-processed coffee is loaded with unique character!  The coop, OCFU (Oramia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union) is named after the Oromia region in Ethiopia.  The OCFCU coop has benefited from the Fair Trade premiums by investing in schools, health-care, clean water & electricity.

(New) Nicaragua Apanas, Certified Organic Fair Trade

Light roast & body, citrus aroma with sweet flavor. This wet-processed coffee leaves a wonderful pleasantly soft aftertaste that lingers.  This small coop, UCASUMAN is located on Lake Apanas and consists of small farms averaging only two hectares.  Coffee is grown above 3000 feet, and receives rainfall 10 months of the year.  Some of its 200 members fought in the country's civil war, but now returned to the country's best coffee-producing land.  One member, Lopez was a soldier in the civil war at the age of 14.  Today, he owns three acres devoted to coffee, his children are in school and he is now president of the UCASUMAN coop.  Impressive turn around!  The Fair Trade premiums are invested in schools and improved health care.

(New) Papua New Guinea Purosa, Certified Organic Fair Trade

Medium-dark roast, cherry bright aroma, deep body with rich molasses flavor and caramel aftertaste.  This exquisite wet-processed coffee is grown on an island in the Pacific region just north of Australia.  Abundant rainfall, rich volcanic soil and an elevation over 5700 feet yield excellent coffee.  The coop, Highlands Organic Agriculture Cooperative (HOAC), consists of about 2600 farmers.  Transportation is very difficult in Papua New Guinea because of the amount of rainfall, and the poorly constructed roads.  The coop uses the Fair Trade premiums to construct well-built roads, community schools, improved health care, and for support for women community groups.

Peru Swiss Water Decaf, Certified Organic Fair Trade

Medium roast, light body, caramel aroma, smooth, spicy finish.

Sumatra Mandheling, Certified Organic Fair Trade

It's full/heavy body and low acidity makes this well-balanced cup a favorite of many coffee drinkers around the world. It is grown in the highlands of the Gayoland region in Indonesia. The harvest season is from September to April. The coffee varieties are Typica, Catimor, and Caturra. The PPKGO co-op mission is to protect their ecosystem and buildup their community through the following initiatives: community nurseries, rehabilitations of degraded lands, credit union that provides small loans, building community infrastructure projects including a reliable clean water supply and upgrades to processing facilities.

Italian Roast blend

Our darkest roast, medium body, rich aroma and flavor with pleasant balance.  A wonderful blend that capitalizes on the wild side of a dry-processed bean balanced against the brightness of Central American coffees.  Roasted dark for added richness.  Great for espressos.
