What we offer

coffee beans

La Cosecha Coffee carefully roasts all of our coffee beans in small batches on an 8-pound fluid-bed roaster. All of our offerings have been grown in a sustainable manner and all farmers have been given a fair price for these beans. We are proud to offer the following single origin whole bean coffees.

(New) Brazil Fazenda Nobre, Certified Organic

Medium-dark roast, medium body, molasses aroma and chardonnay traits with a smooth lingering aftertaste.

(New) Colombia Valle de Cauca, Certified RainForest Alliance

Medium roast & body, floral aroma, well balanced cup with tones of milk chocolate and dry finish.

El Salvador SHG Natural Santa Rita, Certified Shade-Grown

Medium roast & body, sweet honey aroma, rising fruit bomb flavor with long sugary aftertaste. This is an interesting origin that caught our eye.  And like many good coffees, there is a good story here.  Natural Santa Rita refers to natural processed (aka dry-processed) where the cherry is picked & dried in the sun rather than washed.   This allows the coffee cherry to impart its unique flavor to the bean.  It is rare that a Central American coffee is dry-processed.  Most of these coffees are washed since there is ample water in the Central American Mountains.  This farm has experimented with different processing strategies and found something special.  We cupped the coffee and it has a pronounced dry-cherry flavor, much like an Ethiopian Natural Sidamo. The coffee producers are paid premium prices for the great cup quality, and this allows them to reinvest in their coffee production & experiment with their processing techniques.  This coffee will be priced a bit higher.  We only bought two bags (about 300lbs) so if you want to try something distinctly different,  we welcome you to try our "Special Reserve".  Cultivar: Bourbon

(New) Ethiopia Harrar, Certified Fair Trade Organic

Medium-dark roast & soft body, blueberry, peachines, long aftertaste.

(New) Guatemala Ceylan SMBC, Certified Bird Friendly, Rainforest Alliance, Organic

Light roast & body, sticky honey aroma, bursting with lime that bounces to the finish.

Mayan Royal Select Water decaf, Certified Fair Trade Organic

Medium-dark roast, creamy body, buttery aroma, bold with hints of butterscotch.  No chemicals were used to decaffeinate. If you have to drink decaf, this one's for you.

Papua New Guinea Tribal Aromas, Certified Organic

Dark roast, full body, rich milk chocolate flavor with dry cherry finish.
Big News: We found our "heavy hitter" dark roast coffee.   And, this is a GREAT dark roasted coffee with rich notes and full body.  There is no nasty bite that is often associated with dark roasted coffee.   Members of the cooperative, Tribal Aromas come from the remote regions of the Eastern Highlands.  The region is so remote it’s almost entirely road-less, so the coffee must be taken out by airplane at a cost to the farmers of about fifty cents per pound. The coffee, cultivated on small plots is the only source of cash income for the growers. Any additional land is used to grow food crops for family consumption. All coffee is shade-grown and certified by Australia Certified Organic, accredited by USDA and IFOAM.   Go tribal with PNG!  Cultivar: Catimor & Typica

(New) Sumatra Mandheling Permato Gayo, Certified Fair Trade Organic

Dark roast, heavy body, deep forest aroma, earthy tones in this creamy cup that ends smooth.

Italian Roast blend

Our darkest roast, medium body, rich aroma and flavor with pleasant balance.  A wonderful blend of Fair Trade coffees that capitalizes on the wonderful fruity notes & heavy body of dry-processed beans balanced against the great, rich aroma of  a South American coffee.  Roasted dark for added richness.  Great for espressos.
